Real Estate and Neighbourhood:
Located at the base of Bathurst and Lakeshore Blvd, Malibu at Harbourfront is excellently situated close to the downtown core as well as superb access to the Gardiner Expressway and Lake Shore Blvd. Developed by Malibu Investments, this condominium took a lot longer that they had originally anticipated, some reasons where not the fault at all of the developer, an Original Toronto Pier was found during excavation was one huge hold back as archeologists had to be called to the scene. Anyways I digress, this is a well-built building and offers a wide range of options for styles of units and offers good amenities. I lived in this building for 2 years and I have to say it was a great experience. Some of the details:
This is a high-rise building, with a tower and a podium section. There is one commercial unit on the main floor. The tower has 32 floors and the podium has 11 floors, with about 500 units in total.
The amenities include an indoor roof top pool, 24-hour security and rec/gym. More specific details can be found here.
Parks and Recreation:
Being near the waterfront here means there are no shortage of parks and recreational areas for you, the family/partner and/or the pets.
At the waterfront, you’ll find Little Norway park directly to the south of Malibu.
Head east along the Queens Quay and you’ll find the Toronto Music Garden, the HTO Parks and the Harbourfront centre which has fun events all year round, especially in the Summer with outdoor free concerts every week.
Head west along the lakeshore and there are several parks and trails for bikers and walkers alike.
You are minutes away from the ACC and the Rogers Centre and Exhibition place.
Transportation is very efficient from the 600 Fleet St. Malibu building. Right outside the front door one can hop on various Streetcars. The 511 Streetcar takes you up and down Bathurst Street all the way to the Bathurst stop at the Bloor - Danforth Subway Line and to the Exhibition grounds. The 509 Streetcar goes from the Exhibition grounds to Union Station. If you’re traveling on the 509 Streetcar towards Union, you can get off at the Lower Spadina stop at Harbourfront and get the 510 Streetcar north bound to the Spadina stop of the Bloor - Danforth Subway Line.
Shopping and Restaurants:
Being this close to downtown, you can imagine the amount of options available to you. When we lived in the local, we loved to walk up to King or Queen, which took under 10 minutes, and immediately you had the world at you finger tips in regards to shopping and food. A few of the favourites where Niche for breakfast/Brunch and San for Korean, (Pork Kimchi Jigae .. yummy!), both these restaurants are on Queen St W. For a great Sushi fusion place Blowfish on the corner of Bathurst and King is great. Need I really say more, [you are right downtown. Explore with Walkscore.com.
